About the LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter™ set
The X-Wing Starfighter in the Ultimate Collector Series: a larger scale, more accurate detail and a stand with an information plaque holding the fighter in flight attitude. The S-foils open into attack position with a lever. That is the movement this model is built for. Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 are included.
Most of the 1’949 pieces go into the four wings, which are built one after another almost identically. That is repetitive, but each pass is faster; 6 to 8 hours overall is realistic. LEGO has since discontinued 75355, and complete examples with instructions sit well above the old price on the second-hand market. Here you build it without paying collector prices and without clearing a display spot for it afterwards.
Common questions about the LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter™
How long does the LEGO X-Wing Starfighter (75355) take to build?
Reckon on 6 to 8 hours for the 1949 pieces. The fuselage goes quickly; the time goes into the four wings, which are built almost identically four times over. That is repetitive, but each pass is faster than the last.
Can you still buy the LEGO UCS X-Wing?
No, LEGO has taken 75355 out of the range. On the second-hand market complete examples now sit well above the original shop price. Here you can still build it without paying collector prices.
What makes the X-Wing a UCS model?
UCS stands for Ultimate Collector Series: a larger scale, more accurate detail, an information plaque with the technical data and a display stand. The S-foils open into attack position with a lever. A Luke Skywalker minifigure and R2-D2 come with the set.
Is the LEGO X-Wing good for display?
Yes, the set is built exactly for that. It comes with a stand that holds the fighter at an angle in flight attitude, plus a name plaque. Upright on the stand it needs roughly the footprint of a large book.
Questions about the BlockAbo rental model
How does BlockAbo actually work?
You pick a set from our collection and we send it to your door for free. You build it, keep it as long as you like, and send it back when you are ready for the next one. After a month at the earliest, with no upper limit. Then you choose your next set.
What does BlockAbo cost and what is included?
There are three options: the single rental at a one-off CHF 42.–, the monthly plan at CHF 39.– per month and the yearly plan at CHF 29.– per month. Included are the complete set, the instructions, delivery to you and the cleaning. You cover the return, and the label is already in the box.
Can I cancel the subscription at any time?
Yes. The monthly plan can be cancelled to the end of any month, with no reason and no notice period. You send the set back and that is that. The yearly plan commits you for twelve months and costs about a quarter less per month in return.
How hygienic are rented LEGO sets?
Every set is washed at 30 °C with soap after it comes back, dried, and checked brick by brick for completeness. Only then does it go out again. So you never get a set somebody else has been through unchecked.
What happens if pieces are missing or break?
Up to ten lost small pieces are no problem and are included in the price. It happens, vacuum cleaners are merciless. We only get in touch for larger damage or missing large pieces. You do not have to go over the carpet with tweezers.
How fast does the set reach me?
Orders placed before 14:00 go out the same working day. After that Swiss Post usually takes one to two working days. We deliver anywhere in Switzerland and delivery to you is free.
Why is renting more sustainable than buying?
A LEGO set is usually built once and then sits on a shelf or in a cellar for years. With us the same set passes through eight to ten people. For the same number of sets built, that is up to 90 % less newly produced plastic.
