With an active monthly or yearly plan you can keep the set indefinitely. A single rental runs for exactly one month (30 days).

Renting LEGO is straightforward: pick the set you want from our range, get it delivered to your door and build for as long as you like. When you are ready for something new, you send the set back and choose the next one.

Both terms describe our service. Borrowing LEGO emphasises flexible, temporary use, which suits families who want to try different sets. Renting LEGO in Switzerland makes it clear that a monthly fee gives you access to LEGO sets that keep changing. BlockAbo combines both: the flexibility of borrowing with the predictability of a subscription.

You can borrow all sorts of LEGO sets: from LEGO Technic for demanding builders through LEGO Icons and LEGO Creator Expert to LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Disney. Our range covers sets from 2000 to over 4000 pieces. Renting a LEGO set from us means original LEGO in flawless condition, complete with every piece. New LEGO sets cost the same as the classics.

Every set goes through our quality check after it comes back, before it goes out again. We check its condition, wash the sets regularly at 30° with soap and keep track of whether every piece is there. That way a clean and complete set reaches you. It is the advantage over a used set from a classifieds site.

The sets are checked between rentals and washed regularly. That is why the numbered bags from the original packaging are gone, and you get all the pieces loose in one large wash bag. Up to about 2'000 pieces you build straight from the bag; for bigger sets a bit of sorting first is worth it. For the return you sort nothing: take the set fully apart and put every piece back in the wash bag.

Paper instructions and sticker sheets do not last many rentals, so we send the sets without them. The instructions for every set are free at lego.com/en-ch/service/building-instructions and in the LEGO Builder app. Search there by set number or name.

Yes. Our LEGO subscription is aimed primarily at adults and AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO). Complex Technic sets, Creator Expert and Architecture series in particular are perfect for grown-up builders. The subscription makes special sense for adults: premium sets often cost CHF 200.– to CHF 500.– in the shops, take up a lot of room and gather dust once built. With BlockAbo you build complex models at your own pace and swap them for the next challenge.

Orders placed before 14:00 go out the same working day. Swiss Post usually delivers your set within 1 to 3 working days. In Zürich, Basel, Bern and Geneva it is often the next day. Sending it back is just as simple: the return label is always included, pack the set into the box and drop it at the post office or have it collected. Note that return postage is on you.

Normal wear is priced in. If a few small pieces go missing (up to 10 bricks), that is no problem. For larger losses or damage we find a fair solution. BlockAbo is built to be family friendly. We know things go missing while building, so we run a spare-parts service and treat every case individually.

One subscription means one set at a time, whether that is a single rental, a monthly plan or a yearly plan. If you want several sets, you can take out several subscriptions at once, even with the same email address.

Borrowing and swapping LEGO sets is flexible: when you are ready for a new set, you pick your next model online, at the earliest one month after the current one was sent. Pack the current set with the enclosed return label and hand it in at the post office. As soon as your return reaches us, we send out your new set.

No, the LEGO subscription can be cancelled monthly. No minimum term, no notice period. You stay completely flexible. Plenty of customers use BlockAbo seasonally: intensively over the winter months and the school holidays, paused in summer. That flexibility is what makes renting LEGO the right answer for Swiss families.

A LEGO set in rental is used by 8 to 10 people on average instead of just one. That cuts new production by up to 90%. In Switzerland, where sustainability and the circular economy are written into the constitution (Zürich), renting LEGO instead of buying it is a concrete contribution to protecting the environment.
