About the LEGO Gingerbread House set
A gingerbread house made of bricks instead of dough: the roof has icing and colourful sugar buttons, the façade candy cane columns, and the fire in the hearth glows as soon as you press the button. Inside, everything is built from sweets, from the chocolate bed and the candyfloss lamp to the bathroom with its bathtub. A gingerbread man, a gingerbread woman and their baby live there, and there is also a Christmas tree with presents, a snowblower and a pram.
The 1’477 pieces take 4 to 5 hours, so an Advent Sunday is plenty. Finished, the house is 26 cm wide and 21 cm high and fits on a windowsill. LEGO retired the set at the end of 2021. Since it only really suits December, you rent it over the holidays and send it back in January.
Common questions about the LEGO Gingerbread House
How long does the LEGO Gingerbread House (10267) take to build?
Plan on 4 to 5 hours for the 1477 pieces, which fits an Advent Sunday. The roof with its icing and the many small sweets on the façade take the most time.
How big is the LEGO Gingerbread House?
The house is 26 cm wide, 13 cm deep and 21 cm high. It fits on a windowsill or a chest of drawers, or as a decoration on the dining table.
Can you still buy the LEGO Gingerbread House?
No. Set 10267 came out in 2019 and was retired at the end of 2021. New, it cost CHF 109.–. For a set that only really suits December, renting it over the holidays makes sense.

Questions about the BlockAbo rental model
How does BlockAbo actually work?
You pick a set from our collection and we send it to your door for free. You build it, keep it as long as you like, and send it back when you are ready for the next one. After a month at the earliest, with no upper limit. Then you choose your next set.
What does BlockAbo cost and what is included?
There are three options: the single rental at a one-off CHF 42.–, the monthly plan at CHF 39.– per month and the yearly plan at CHF 29.– per month. Included are the complete set, the instructions, delivery to you and the cleaning. You cover the return, and the label is already in the box.
Can I cancel the subscription at any time?
Yes. The monthly plan can be cancelled to the end of any month, with no reason and no notice period. You send the set back and that is that. The yearly plan commits you for twelve months and costs about a quarter less per month in return.
How hygienic are rented LEGO sets?
Every set is washed at 30 °C with soap after it comes back, dried, and checked brick by brick for completeness. Only then does it go out again. So you never get a set somebody else has been through unchecked.
What happens if pieces are missing or break?
Up to ten lost small pieces are no problem and are included in the price. It happens, vacuum cleaners are merciless. We only get in touch for larger damage or missing large pieces. You do not have to go over the carpet with tweezers.
How fast does the set reach me?
Orders placed before 14:00 go out the same working day. After that Swiss Post usually takes one to two working days. We deliver anywhere in Switzerland and delivery to you is free.
Why is renting more sustainable than buying?
A LEGO set is usually built once and then sits on a shelf or in a cellar for years. With us the same set passes through eight to ten people. For the same number of sets built, that is up to 90 % less newly produced plastic.
