About the LEGO Eiffel Tower set

At 10’001 pieces and 149 cm tall, the Eiffel Tower is one of the largest LEGO sets ever released. The build follows the real tower: four segments built one after another and stacked, from the base with its four arches to the tip of the antenna. The middle lattice work is very repetitive. That is where you find out whether the set suits you or not.

Anyone building it should plan for two things: time and floor area. 30 to 40 hours is realistic, and the half-finished model needs somewhere it can stand for weeks. Finished, it no longer fits on a normal sideboard; the footprint alone is 57 × 57 cm. Which is exactly why the Eiffel Tower is a set you want to build once and need not own afterwards.

Common questions about the LEGO Eiffel Tower

How long does the LEGO Eiffel Tower take to build?

Reckon on 30 to 40 hours. At 10'001 pieces the Eiffel Tower is one of the largest LEGO sets there is, and the build is divided into four segments that are stacked one on top of the other. The middle lattice work is very repetitive. Most people build it over several weeks.

How big is the LEGO Eiffel Tower once built?

Finished it stands 149 cm tall on a 57 × 57 cm footprint. That means it does not fit on a table under a normal ceiling. You need floor space or a very tall sideboard. That is the real constraint on this set, not the price.

Do you need particular experience for the LEGO Eiffel Tower?

Technically no. There are no unusual building techniques. What you need is stamina and somewhere the half-finished model can stand for weeks. If you only build on the odd evening, plan for that in advance.

Is the LEGO Eiffel Tower still available?

Yes, set 10307 is still in the range. At a shop price of around CHF 699.– and a metre and a half tall, though, the question for most people is less whether they can buy it than where to put it.

Questions about the BlockAbo rental model

How does BlockAbo actually work?

You pick a set from our collection and we send it to your door for free. You build it, keep it as long as you like, and send it back when you are ready for the next one. After a month at the earliest, with no upper limit. Then you choose your next set.

What does BlockAbo cost and what is included?

There are three options: the single rental at a one-off CHF 42.–, the monthly plan at CHF 39.– per month and the yearly plan at CHF 29.– per month. Included are the complete set, the instructions, delivery to you and the cleaning. You cover the return, and the label is already in the box.

Can I cancel the subscription at any time?

Yes. The monthly plan can be cancelled to the end of any month, with no reason and no notice period. You send the set back and that is that. The yearly plan commits you for twelve months and costs about a quarter less per month in return.

How hygienic are rented LEGO sets?

Every set is washed at 30 °C with soap after it comes back, dried, and checked brick by brick for completeness. Only then does it go out again. So you never get a set somebody else has been through unchecked.

What happens if pieces are missing or break?

Up to ten lost small pieces are no problem and are included in the price. It happens, vacuum cleaners are merciless. We only get in touch for larger damage or missing large pieces. You do not have to go over the carpet with tweezers.

How fast does the set reach me?

Orders placed before 14:00 go out the same working day. After that Swiss Post usually takes one to two working days. We deliver anywhere in Switzerland and delivery to you is free.

Why is renting more sustainable than buying?

A LEGO set is usually built once and then sits on a shelf or in a cellar for years. With us the same set passes through eight to ten people. For the same number of sets built, that is up to 90 % less newly produced plastic.
