About the LEGO Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car set
The SF-24 is the car Ferrari raced in Formula 1 in 2024, and LEGO has rebuilt it from 1’361 pieces at the Technic scale of 1:8. Under the removable engine cover sits a V6 with a rotating MGU-H unit, and there is a two-speed gearbox as well. The steering and suspension work, the tyres are printed, and you lay the rear wing flat for DRS, just as the real car does on the straight.
For a Technic car of this size it is a manageable build. Reckon on 5 to 7 hours, most of them for the chassis, suspension and gearbox; the red bodywork comes at the end and goes quickly. Finished, the car is 61 cm long and needs a shelf almost to itself. It is still available at LEGO and costs CHF 239.– new. Rented, you build it once and have the space free again afterwards.
Common questions about the LEGO Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car
How long does the LEGO Ferrari SF-24 F1 (42207) take to build?
Reckon on 5 to 7 hours for the 1'361 pieces, easily done over two evenings. The chassis, suspension and gearbox come first, and that is where you count axles and pins carefully. The red bodywork and the two wings come at the end and go quickly.
How big is the LEGO Ferrari SF-24 F1 once built?
The model is 61 cm long, 24 cm wide and 13 cm tall, at the Technic scale of 1:8. It needs a shelf a good 60 cm wide to itself, while the usual 30 cm of depth is enough. Being as low as it is, it also sits well on a sideboard.
Can you still buy the LEGO Ferrari SF-24 F1?
Yes. Set 42207 came out at the start of 2025 and is still on regular sale at LEGO, where it costs CHF 239.– new. Licensed Technic cars rarely stay in the range for more than two or three years. If you only want to build it once, you do not have to buy it to do so.
Is the LEGO Ferrari SF-24 F1 hard to build?
No, for a set rated 18 and up it is approachable. At 1'361 pieces it is much smaller than the big Technic supercars, and the two-speed gearbox is manageable. Look closely at axles of similar length, because a mix-up in the gearbox only shows once nothing shifts any more.
Does the LEGO Ferrari SF-24 F1 have a working DRS?
Yes. You can lay the rear wing flat, the way the real car opens its DRS on the straight. There are also steering, suspension and a two-speed gearbox. Take off the engine cover and you see the V6 with a rotating MGU-H unit.
Questions about the BlockAbo rental model
How does BlockAbo actually work?
You pick a set from our collection and we send it to your door for free. You build it, keep it as long as you like, and send it back when you are ready for the next one. After a month at the earliest, with no upper limit. Then you choose your next set.
What does BlockAbo cost and what is included?
There are three options: the single rental at a one-off CHF 42.–, the monthly plan at CHF 39.– per month and the yearly plan at CHF 29.– per month. Included are the complete set, delivery to you and the cleaning. You cover the return, and the label is already in the box.
Can I cancel the subscription at any time?
Yes. The monthly plan can be cancelled to the end of any month, with no reason and no notice period. You send the set back and that is that. The yearly plan commits you for twelve months and costs about a quarter less per month in return.
How hygienic are rented LEGO sets?
Every set is washed at 30 °C with soap after it comes back, dried, and checked brick by brick for completeness. Only then does it go out again. So you never get a set somebody else has been through unchecked.
Why are all the pieces mixed in one bag?
After every rental the set is washed and checked brick by brick for completeness. After that the numbered bags from the original packaging are gone, and you get all the pieces loose in one large wash bag. Up to about 2'000 pieces you build straight from the bag; for bigger sets a bit of sorting first is worth it. For the return you sort nothing: take the set fully apart and put every piece back in the wash bag.
Why are there no building instructions in the box?
Paper instructions and sticker sheets do not last many rentals, so we send the sets without them. The instructions for every set are free at lego.com/en-ch/service/building-instructions and in the LEGO Builder app. Search there by set number or name.
What happens if pieces are missing or break?
Up to ten lost small pieces are no problem and are included in the price. It happens, vacuum cleaners are merciless. We only get in touch for larger damage or missing large pieces. You do not have to go over the carpet with tweezers.
How fast does the set reach me?
Orders placed before 14:00 go out the same working day. After that Swiss Post usually takes one to two working days. We deliver anywhere in Switzerland and delivery to you is free.
Why is renting more sustainable than buying?
A LEGO set is usually built once and then sits on a shelf or in a cellar for years. With us the same set passes through eight to ten people. For the same number of sets built, that is up to 90 % less newly produced plastic.
