About the LEGO Hogwarts™ Castle and Grounds set

Hogwarts Castle and Grounds shows the castle as a micro model on a landscape that folds open. Closed it is a compact diorama; opened you see the grounds with the Whomping Willow, the boathouse jetty and the path down to the lake. 2’660 pieces, 21 × 35 × 25 cm finished, far more manageable than the large Hogwarts models without missing any detail.

The build is divided into clearly separated sections and spreads well across a few evenings; reckon on 8 to 10 hours. It gets delicate around the turrets; no unusual building techniques come up. If you want to find out whether a set of this size suits you before taking on a 6’000-piece model, Hogwarts is a good way in. Afterwards you simply send it back.

Common questions about the LEGO Hogwarts™ Castle and Grounds

How long does the LEGO Hogwarts Castle and Grounds take to build?

Reckon on 8 to 10 hours for the 2660 pieces. The build is split into clearly separated sections, grounds, towers and interiors, which makes it easy to split up. If you want to take in the details at leisure, add a couple of evenings.

How big is the LEGO Hogwarts Castle (76419)?

The model measures 21 × 35 × 25 cm. That is more compact than many expect. It is a micro version of the castle with grounds that fold open, not a room-filling model. It fits on a sideboard or a shelf without trouble.

What is the difference from the other LEGO Hogwarts sets?

76419 is the version with the grounds: the castle folds open, and a landscape with the Whomping Willow and the boathouse jetty comes with it. So it is not a pure micro model, but neither is it the huge 71043 with its 6020 pieces.

Is the LEGO Hogwarts Castle hard to build?

Medium. There are a lot of small pieces and some delicate turrets, but no unusual techniques. If you have built a set of over 2000 pieces before, nothing here will stop you. What you need is patience for the fine work rather than for the logic.

Questions about the BlockAbo rental model

How does BlockAbo actually work?

You pick a set from our collection and we send it to your door for free. You build it, keep it as long as you like, and send it back when you are ready for the next one. After a month at the earliest, with no upper limit. Then you choose your next set.

What does BlockAbo cost and what is included?

There are three options: the single rental at a one-off CHF 42.–, the monthly plan at CHF 39.– per month and the yearly plan at CHF 29.– per month. Included are the complete set, the instructions, delivery to you and the cleaning. You cover the return, and the label is already in the box.

Can I cancel the subscription at any time?

Yes. The monthly plan can be cancelled to the end of any month, with no reason and no notice period. You send the set back and that is that. The yearly plan commits you for twelve months and costs about a quarter less per month in return.

How hygienic are rented LEGO sets?

Every set is washed at 30 °C with soap after it comes back, dried, and checked brick by brick for completeness. Only then does it go out again. So you never get a set somebody else has been through unchecked.

What happens if pieces are missing or break?

Up to ten lost small pieces are no problem and are included in the price. It happens, vacuum cleaners are merciless. We only get in touch for larger damage or missing large pieces. You do not have to go over the carpet with tweezers.

How fast does the set reach me?

Orders placed before 14:00 go out the same working day. After that Swiss Post usually takes one to two working days. We deliver anywhere in Switzerland and delivery to you is free.

Why is renting more sustainable than buying?

A LEGO set is usually built once and then sits on a shelf or in a cellar for years. With us the same set passes through eight to ten people. For the same number of sets built, that is up to 90 % less newly produced plastic.
